Pacific Fleet KA-27 Deck Landing Training

The Pacific Fleet Naval Aviation’s helicopter squadron exercised taking-off and deck landing on submarine rescue vessel Alagez in the Avacha Bay water area, Kamchatka.

The Ka-27PL and Ka-27PS helicopters of a mixed naval air regiment practiced improving elements of deck landing on the ship underway. Naval pilots also trained their skills in choosing the optimal approach course, direction finding and touch-down accuracy.

Also, the helicopter crews worked out their cooperation with the flight control group aboard Alagez.

The drill involved three deck helicopters, which carried out about 15 take-offs and deck landings on the Alagez. The vessel-carrier also refueled the helicopters.
