Inter-service tactical exercise on safeguarding RF State Border starts in Kamchatka

July 2, 2018 – Today, a planned inter-service tactical exercise on safeguarding RF State Border starts in Kamchatka has started in Kamchatka.

The exercise involves units and subunits of the Pacific Fleet, Border Directorate of the RF Federal Security Service on the Eastern Arctic Area, Russian National Guard (Rosgvardia) and Russian Interior Ministry on the Kamchatka Territory.

During the exercise, the Pacific Fleet units together with representatives of the other power structures will practise the tasks of detaining and inspecting the non-compliant vessel simulated by the ice-breaker Ivan Susanin, as well as convoying a group of ships and operating on the shore range.

During the exercise, the detachment ships are to carry out joint artillery firings at the towed sea shield and on the dropped parachute target.

Five ships, up to 10 aircraft of the Naval Aviation, up to 30 combat vehicles and about 200 marines involved for the drills. The exercise is being held in the Pacific Fleet’s combat training ranges.
