Fredericton Returns to Halifax From Caribbean

December 9, 2016 – HMCS Fredericton returned to Halifax, Nova Scotia, today after completing a two and a half week deployment to the Americas.
HMCS Fredericton visited the ports of Veracruz, Mexico; Cartagena, Colombia; and Havana, Cuba. The visit to Cuba was a first for a Canadian Warship in more than 50 years.
The Royal Canadian Navy routinely works with its partners in the Caribbean region to conduct missions ranging from drug interdiction to diving operations. HMCS Fredericton’s visit strengthens existing defence partnerships and enhances mutual understanding, cooperation, and capacity building with our partners in the region.
